June 19th (formerly known as Juneteenth) is not the only Emancipation Day celebrated by African-Americans nationally. Washington, D.C. celebrates the signing of the Emancipation Act by Abraham Lincoln on April 16th with the entire month of April dedicated to the observance of the ending of slavery. On the date of April 30th, however, Emancipation Day is being marked as the day to Emancipate Yourself from Medical Mental Slavery. It is a day of self-awareness predicated of how you are consciously taking care of your health and healing your body. The brain child of Dr. Karen Davis-Foulks, PMD, DL, NESCP (non-secular science of health & healing), the day was created out of the need to re-educate and remind individuals of the powers they possess as a divine being born with the birth right of pure health. Dr. Foulks has worked in the healthcare field for over twenty-five years and for the past fifteen years she has been informing her clients, students and members of the community that they do not have diseases.
